I think my favorite jokes are the ones that weren’t even all that funny until I was an adult, and now they’re fucking hilarious. I’m not even talking about the dirty jokes. I’m talking about in Finding Nemo where the sharks are having fucking AA for fish eating. Remember that shit? “I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself.” Who ever thought of that? That was brilliant. Or what about that time in Shrek 2 where Shrek and Donkey infiltrate the castle pretending to be union workers? Little me didn’t give a shit about unions but big me is remembering Shrek going “It’s okay buddy, we’re from the union” and the desk worker secretively “we don’t even have dental,” and Shrek just shakes his head and looks at Donkey like he can’t believe this shit and goes, “They don’t even have dental.” What the fuck. I’m dying of laughter. Who comes up with this shit.
Dirty jokes have their place but I kind of wish more “adult” jokes relied on “Things only adults would understand due to lack of life experience,” instead of “Things that are inappropriate for kids,”
This a series that I made based off of actual quotes from the behind the scenes specials that were done on the different doctors, and these are all from the episode about the 9th Doctor.
I paired them with the photos that seemed to suit the most, and am still very proud of this compilation.
The 9th Doctor is the doctor that got me into Doctor Who, and I fell in love with 9 all because of the outstanding performance given by Christopher Eccleston. I then proceeded to watch more of Doctor Who, but ultimately stopped and instead went and started watching Eccleston’s other performances in other shows and movies, and boy am I glad that I did.
Can we talk about how everyone’s pro not having sex and is all “virginity is a social construct” until it comes to ace people and suddenly virgin is an insult and if you don’t like sex you’re broken or a late bloomer or seeking attention.
It’s like… be a feminist but also be sexually available, just in case.
This really makes me rethink the characters decisions. Usually these women are depicted as stupid, vain, or selfish. But I sympathize with them way more when their options written this way
